How To Update WordPress Ping List to Get Posts Quickly Indexed by Search Engines in 2018

Search engines have become an integral part of the blogging experience, apart from social media platforms like FaceBook, Twitter and Pinterest, the only other major way that bloggers get traffic is through a search engine.

Traditionally, search engines, use parameters specified in the robots.txt file to determine the frequency with which to crawl a website. A better approach is to notify search engines that new content has been published. Out of the box, WordPress has this feature automated.

WordPress notifies some major ping services or search engines on post creation and updates. We can, however, extend the list by adding some more ping services. Updating ping list is one of the essential settings to configure after installing WordPress. In this post, we will be providing a list of ping services and showing you how to setup your website to ping such services of changes.

WordPress Ping List URLs 2018

Before we go any further, we want to provide a list of ping URLs you might want to use. Below is the list of ping URLs can be used with your WordPress blog. We will be maintaining this list and keep it up to date with any changes. Copy the below lists in system clipboard.

Updating WordPress Ping List

Firstly, login to your WordPress dashboard. Go to Setting and Click on ‘Writting’. You will notice a text field with the header text “Update Services”. Those are the list of services that your installation currently supports. You can now go ahead and paste this list in that box like displayed in the screenshot below.

All done. Now your WordPress website will automatically send a ping to all URLs configured above whenever you created a new post for updated existing post. Feel free to share this post or comment on your experience with the ping services.
